All families are welcome! If you have children, the following information will help you feel more comfortable about leaving them with our staff while you enjoy church. We also have other opportunities for fun and fellowship at other times.

Childcare and Church School

Infant Care (0-3 yrs old): Our greeter will direct you to the childcare room on arrival at the front of the sanctuary. A parent room is connected for parents wanting to view the service with their infants.  Alternatively, they may stay in the sanctuary with you.

Our childcare room is furnished with a changing table, a refrigerator for formula, and Pac ‘n Plays for infants.  Our teachers provide both structured and unstructured activities with our large collection of toys and preschool equipment.

Preschool thru 8th grade: Children sit with their parents until “Children’s Moment,” when they are invited to join up front. After a brief story, they are escorted to Church School classrooms.

Childcare and classrooms are located behind the Education Building in Rooms 1 & 2. Parents pick up their children immediately following the service. Campus map is here.

Older children return for communion during communion services on the first Sunday of the month.

Children’s Safety

Parents, please register your children in the Narthex (entryway) before entering church. We ask you to provide emergency contact information and other relevant information about your child(ren). We request to see identification when releasing children until our staff becomes familiar with you and those you designate to pick them up.

Caring adults work with children and youth, and they have all been fingerprinted, had background checks, and gone through training. We have a two-adult-minimum rule for all children and youth events.

If you would like to volunteer on a single, part time, or regular basis in our Sunday classes, Youth nights, or Family Fundays, please send a note to Lucinda Edmunds, Children and Youth Director at childrensdirector@firstchurchriverside.org.

We can’t wait to meet you!
